Custom Hats

Custom HatWith a lot of lead time, there are no limits for your next custom hat order.  If your program requires a couple thousand hats, we can produce it as a direct import which will definitely help to make breathing room in your budget!  Ampro has resources in East Asia for custom hats, so we can customize everything from the exact color of the hat, to all the decorating for a fraction of domestic costs.  As we all know, ample lead time is extremely rare, and while it’s great to have, most people are working on “at once” programs that are needed for events on the short horizon.  Nine times out of ten, we make hats out of existing stock styles, and we customize them with embroideries.  The differences between the quality of a direct import hat program, and a domestic custom hat program are indistinguishable, the only real difference is the price.  There are hundreds of hat suppliers in the U.S., but Ampro primarily only works with two of the best.  Pacific Headwear makes fantastic stock hats that utilize all the new moisture management and construction technologies, and they make them in a wide variety of colors and styles.  We also recommend Yupoong hats, which have proprietary Flexfit technology which is very popular among young men, and can still be customized to your needs.

Decorate!

Embroidery is the key to success in any custom hat program.  It doesn’t matter how nice the quality of the hat is if your supplier puts a sloppy embroidery on the front.  Ampro uses the best digitizing technology in the business, and we sample every logo before we run production on your custom hats.  Very few organizations have access to both printing and embroidery equipment in the same building, and they major advantage for us is if we are putting an entire uniform together, we can match your custom printed uniforms and your custom hats to each other with the decorating.  If you purchase all your uniform components from different suppliers, it is highly unlikely that everything will match when it arrives at your door.  And, if you are adding a custom hat to a uniform that you’ve already created, just send us the shirt that you would like it to match, and we’ll find the best candidate.
 

Style & Fabric

Custom HatCustom hats come in a lot of different flavors, from brushed cotton twill to foam front mesh trucker caps.  With so many options, it can be difficult to narrow it down.  If you aren’t very familiar with hats, but stuck making the purchase, you may want to ask around to see what the preferences are among that team.  Younger folks like low-profile hats, older folks like high profile hats, and that is just scratching the surface of custom hats.  Then you get into more basic variables like baseball caps versus beanies or visors.  Custom golf hats are also extremely popular and somewhat diverse; generally they come in nicer fabrics like brushed twill and moisture management blends, but I have also noticed that visors are very popular for golf events.  Custom hats can also be 6-panel, which is more modern, or 5-panel which has more of a vintage feel.  Most men have strong opinions about hats based on how they fit (and how they look) which is why this is the only item that I would recommend for my clients to ask around in their target market.  Custom hats are a great giveaway item, and when they are done tastefully, they will be worn by both ladies and men.  If you aren’t sure what your options are, let any Ampro salesperson make a presentation to you with some samples.  That will help you zero in on a certain direction, and we will help you continue to narrow it down from there.  With our embroidery capabilities, and our sources, Ampro should definitely be your first stop on your next custom hat program.
