Letter Jackets
Letter jackets do not have the same role in high school social circles that they used to, but for some, they are still an exciting part of the experience. Holloway and Game make exceptional letter jackets, and some are even made in the good ‘old USA. Ampro carries a ton of letter jacket samples in our showroom, so it’s a good idea to stop in and put your hands on the different jackets and fabrics to see what jumps out. There are all wool jackets, wool and leather jackets, and wool and vinyl jackets- all of which come in an extraordinary array of color combinations. Be sure to plan in advance if you are planning to give away letter jackets for an event, it can take 4-6 weeks just to get them here to Ampro before we start decorating them.
Vinyl Versus Leather
One other important thing to know about these letter jackets is the cost difference between the vinyl-sleeved jackets and the leather-sleeved jackets. Leather generally costs double than vinyl, so we have noticed that most parents and organizations prefer to choose vinyl sleeves (if not all wool) because it’s virtually impossible to tell the difference, and because the cost savings are so great for their custom team jackets.
