Wrestling T Shirts

Wrestling UniformI know you would hate to consider any wrestling gear outside of that comfortable singlet, but today we’re going to talk wrestling T shirts.  If you are working with a high school team, I think it would probably be more appropriate to wear your team T shirt to school on match days in addition to your warm-ups, than let’s say, your singlet.  You can even get Anti-microbial wrestling T shirts and longsleeve pullover shirts that deter moisture and odor retention (pictured below).  It is vitally important that your team is outfitted in the proper warm-up and cool-down gear since they are often working their core body temperature up and then walking outside in the cold weather to get into their cars and go home.  Winter sports have the additional responsibility to keep their athletes toasty and dry throughout their cool-down so they are not prone to muscular strain or sickness.  So, in the interest of their health, the best option for wrestling T shirts would be performance fabric t shirts that wick sweat away, keeping their skin dry, and promoting an even process for cooling down.  There are a ton of other benefits for using a moisture management t shirt for your wrestlers, not the least of which is that if their skin is dry, there is less chance of spreading rashes or viruses.

Little Something For the Fans

Since we’ve established that the wrestlers should probably have a specialty moisture-wicking wrestling T shirts, now let’s talk about the fans.  You could put your fans in a sea of school colors, which I generally suggest for indoor sports, but for wrestling, it would be a good idea to consider longsleeve wrestling T shirts for the fans, or even hoodies.  It would be a shame to outfit your whole booster club in similarly-colored T shirts, only to have them buried under hoodies and jackets.  Everyone has a ton of short-sleeve t shirts in their wardrobe, but most people only have one or two long-sleeve T shirts.  What a great opportunity!  If they only have a couple long sleeve T shirts, they are more likely to wear your club’s wrestling T shirt in the cool weather.

Capture the Message

Wrestling UniformOnce you figure out which shirt to use for your team, and then what to use for your fans, it’s time to think through the design.  I always suggest that you speak to your teams’ message.  If your team focuses on intensity, put that into your wrestling T shirt design.  From there, your design can go one of two ways, it can either be heavily graphical depicting wrestlers in action, or it can be more collegiate, with the focus on the name of the school or team.  Either way, if the artwork is done right your wrestling T shirt design will be attractive, and it will convey the personality of the coaches and wrestlers.
